"Oscar's" available in the US in early December. Nice!

Quevedo was founded in 1991 as a family owned business in the heart of the Douro valley, responding to the needs of the generations that preceded the associate founders. These ancestors were passionately dedicated to their vineyards and to the culture that surrounded the production of wine. Consequently, the company was created as a seamless marriage between the initial phase of production and the promotion and selling of their wines. Currently, the estate is comprised of 100 hectares located in the regions of Cima-Corgo and Douro Superior, producing both red and port wines from only the five traditional port grapes Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Tinta Barroca.

And the good news is...
Very soon their delicious red wine - "Oscar's" - will be available in the US!

This lovely red wine is a blend of 60% Touriga Nacional and 40% Tinta Roriz (or Tempranillo, as its known in neighboring Spain, and the only classic variety of the Douro not indigenous to Portugal). It comes from the gorgeous Douro Valley in northern Portugal, where the vineyards are energized by lots of sun and blue skies.

Due to the good weather late in the season during the 2008 vintage, they were able to pick up the grapes with full maturity on late September.  The harvest was in very good condition and produced wines with a nice color and good structure.

This is the tasting note from Oscar (the guy behind this wine) for "Oscar's" (his wine):
"Pure black fruits and lavender on the nose balanced by funky-funky minerality which reminded me of poking my head into my dad’s rock-filled trailer. Really pleasant blueberry action on the palate with a hint of vanilla and even dairy. Possibly vanilla ice-cream then. Smooth tannins, good acidity, long finish."

This is what Wine Enthusiast, Roger Voss had to say: Oscar Quevedo, a new star of the Douro, has produced a stylish wine, suffused with tannins, fresh acidity, solid black fruits and a lively bright feel. It is ready to drink, but could age 3–4 years. R.V.  (11/1/2010)  - 88

The not-so-good news is that just a very limited quantity of the wine is coming...
