GEORGE DUBOEUF 2010 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU....by Philip S. Kampe

The uncorking of the Legendary First Bottle of George Duboeuf's 2010 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU at New York's District 36, last Thursday, was a day to remember.

Acrobats, jugglers, trapeze artists and more, including actress Molly Sims, were on hand to make this day, billed as NOUVEAU CIRQUE, an Event of Worldwide Magnitude. The circus like party, brain child of PR Guru Melanie Young, focused on the Gamay grape of Beaujolais, which was hand-harvested and bottled only six weeks after harvest.

Frank Duboeuf explained that the "2010 Beaujolais Nouveau is a youthful wine with a fresh vibe. It is an explosion of flavor on the palate with bright red fruits and rich floral aromas. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser".

My thoughts on the 2010 BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU:

+ Reddish-violet in color.

+ Strawberries and cherries on the palate.

+ Good acidity.

+ Earthy.

+ Balanced.

+ Great food wine when chilled for a short period of time.

At under $10 a bottle, this year's version of Frank Duboeuf's Beaujolais Nouveau is a true steal!
BUY some before it disappears....

Chateau des Moriers - Miss Vicky Wine Fleurie 2007
This Fleurie is fresh, elegant, fun and sexy. You will love its feminine features and gourmand flavors of ripe cherry and red currant.  Soft and crispy in the mouth, it is also a bouquet of flowers to give you a breath of spring.  It would be a perfect accompaniment with summer dishes or on its own.  This wine goes very well with poultry, soups, lightly spiced dishes, goat cheese or Camembert.
